The TOP Society inaugural lecture will take place on Thursday, 20 October, at 5.30 p.m. in central London. Contact us to book if you wish to attend this event.
Professor Brian J Ford will address the question whether humans are meant to eat meat.
Should people be vegetarian? How do the various arguments shape up under scientific examination? In this illustrated presentation, Professor Brian J Ford will show how humans evolved and how we relate to other forms of life - carnivorous, herbivorous, omnivorous. In a startling new theory, he will show how 'man the hunter' is not where we all originated. Professor Ford’s new theory on how humans began will alter our way of looking at ourselves, where we came from, and what we eat.

TOP Society is a new think-tank based on vegetarian and vegan ideas and, apart from organising talks and publishing papers, will offer a post-graduate scholarship to explore and promote vegetarianism and veganism.
TOP is short for "Thoughts of Pythagoras" since TOP Society takes guidance from high cultures throughout history that promoted abstinence from meat and called for or practiced the respectful treatment of animals, and in particular from leaders such as Pythagoras, but also Ovid, Plutarch, Leonardo da Vinci and Gandhi, et al.
Our first event is a talk by Professor Brian Ford about the question whether humans are meant to eat meat. The talk will take place in the evening of 20 October 2011 at the London School of Economics in the West End of London. If you are interested, please book by contacting us via our website: www.topsociety.org .
